Cheongsong County Fulfills Its Promises to Residents
Cheongsong County in North Gyeongsang Province received the highest SA grade in the "2025 Evaluation of Pledge Implementation and Information Disclosure by Heads of Local Governments in the Eighth Popularly Elected Term," conducted by the Korea Manifesto Implementation Headquarters.
This evaluation analyzed the pledge implementation data disclosed on the websites of 226 cities, counties, and districts nationwide as of the end of December 2024, during the eighth popularly elected term.
The evaluation covered five areas: ▲completion of pledges ▲achievement of 2024 goals ▲resident communication ▲web communication ▲consistency of pledges. The Korea Manifesto Implementation Headquarters conducted monitoring evaluations and thoroughly reviewed supplementary materials on pledge implementation submitted twice by each local government, awarding the SA grade to those with a total score of 87 points or higher.
Cheongsong County was highly rated for enhancing the transparency and substance of pledge implementation through measures such as "quarterly pledge implementation status checks," "operation of a resident jury group," and "posting pledge status and operating a pledge section on the county website."
As Cheongsong County approaches the fourth year of the eighth popularly elected term, 30 out of a total of 73 pledge projects have been completed, and 32 are progressing as planned, resulting in a pledge implementation rate of 63%. This figure far exceeds the national average of 53.05% and the North Gyeongsang Province average of 48.21%.
Major completed projects include: ▲establishment of an innovative Cheongsong apple cultivation system ▲creation of the Golden Apple Research Complex ▲expansion of the Jinbo Regional Child Center ▲free rides on Cheongsong Buses (city buses) ▲maintenance of the Juwangsan Tourist District ▲completion of the Jusanjee Theme Park ▲improvement of municipal waste treatment facilities ▲modernization and expansion of local water supply areas.
Ongoing projects include: ▲expansion of Cheongsong Apple Distribution Center facilities ▲establishment of smart agricultural management systems and smart farms ▲expansion of specialized testing and treatment at the medical center ▲globalization of the Cheongsong Apple Festival ▲creation of nighttime tourist attractions utilizing natural scenery ▲expansion of LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) supply facilities ▲undergrounding of power lines in the Sannam area.
County Governor Yoon Kyunghee stated, "This evaluation result is thanks to the efforts of public officials and the cooperation of residents. Even as Cheongsong County is fully engaged in wildfire recovery efforts, we are doing our utmost to fulfill our pledges, and I will ensure that all pledges are completed within my term to open up a brighter future for Cheongsong County."
