760,000 Moviegoers Over the Weekend
Tops the Box Office
The film "Mission: Impossible ? Dead Reckoning" began its box office dominance over the past weekend, attracting more than 760,000 viewers.
According to the Korean Film Council's integrated ticket sales network on May 19, the film drew 762,970 viewers over two days starting from May 17. It topped the box office with a revenue share of 74.5%. On its opening day, May 17, it attracted 423,925 viewers, surpassing "Mickey 17" (248,047 viewers) and setting the highest opening score of the year.
Directed by Christopher McQuarrie, "Mission: Impossible ? Dead Reckoning" follows the journey of Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise), who is tasked with a mission amid a crisis that threatens all of humanity. Cruise delivers realistic and thrilling action sequences on land, sea, and air by performing his own stunts.
As "Mission: Impossible ? Dead Reckoning" took over theaters, "Opposition," which had been enjoying box office success, dropped to second place after five weeks in release. It added 77,935 viewers, bringing its cumulative total to 3,209,591.
"Minecraft Movie" ranked third, drawing 56,600 viewers. Its cumulative audience has reached 1,313,841.
