Consulting on Aerospace Quality Certification Systems
Including Certification Renewal and Surveillance Audits
On May 19, the Sacheon City Government in South Gyeongsang Province announced that it will launch the "2025 Sacheon City Aerospace Quality Certification Support Project" in partnership with the Korea Aerospace Industries Association, aiming to strengthen the global competitiveness of the local aerospace industry.
With a budget of 250 million won, the city will provide support to local small and medium-sized enterprises engaged in the aerospace industry. This support includes consulting services related to aerospace quality certification systems, renewal of certifications, and costs for surveillance audits.
The Korea Aerospace Industries Association established the Korea Aerospace Quality Group (KAQG) in 2016 to localize overseas certifications. Since 2018, it has operated the KS Q 9100 certification, a domestically developed standard, as the national industrial standard.
Additionally, on March 17, the association changed its supervising authority to the Korea Aerospace Administration and announced its commitment to fostering the aerospace industry as a future growth engine by providing dedicated support.

A city official stated, "Through this project, we expect to ease the operational cost burden for local aerospace companies and minimize the outflow of national wealth by supporting domestic certification."
Meanwhile, the KAQG (Korea Aerospace Quality Group) is responsible for quality-related standardization activities in the domestic aerospace industry. KS Q 9100 (AS 9100) is the most widely used standard certification system among aerospace and defense companies and serves as the fundamental certification required to conduct aerospace and defense business.
