"We Pledge Love and Dedication to Children"... Youngjin College Holds Teacher Oath Ceremony for Early Childhood Education Department

Adult learners who have been dedicated to their studies with dreams of becoming early childhood education experts at the Department of Early Childhood Education at Youngjin College (President Choi Jaeyoung) have taken their first bold step as prospective teachers.


The college held a Teacher Oath Ceremony for third-year students of the "Future Class" in the Department of Early Childhood Education on the afternoon of May 17 in the audiovisual room of the campus library. At the ceremony, 41 third-year adult learners reaffirmed their sense of duty and responsibility as teachers and pledged their love and dedication to young children.

Most of the participants are adult learners who have been balancing family, work, and studies. The oath ceremony served as a meaningful opportunity for them to reflect on their identity and calling as teachers.


The event was attended by Vice President Park Jongbaek, faculty members of the Department of Early Childhood Education, and university officials, who offered warm congratulations and encouragement to the prospective teachers taking their first steps into the field of education.


In his congratulatory remarks, Vice President Park said, "I offer my deep respect and applause for your tireless efforts in pursuing your dream of becoming early childhood teachers while balancing work and studies," and added, "I hope you will become excellent teachers who guide the healthy growth of children based on love, respect, and professionalism."


Following this, student representatives Kim Kyungok and Lee Sangsoon read the Teacher Oath, pledging, "We will love young children, respect their individuality, and support their holistic development as teachers." They also declared, "We will provide high-quality education and actively respond to a changing society to contribute to the advancement of early childhood education," receiving enthusiastic applause from the attendees.


The two students also expressed their aspirations, stating, "We will grow into competent early childhood teachers with creativity, character, and professionalism?the qualities valued by the Department of Early Childhood Education at Youngjin College?and contribute to society."


Meanwhile, the "Future Class" operates using a blended learning approach that combines online classes during the week with face-to-face classes on Saturdays, as well as flipped learning methods. This customized curriculum reflects the characteristics of adult learners and helps them balance studies, work, and family.


Nah Jiyeon, head of the Department of Early Childhood Education, said, "This Teacher Oath Ceremony was an opportunity for students to renew their sense of identity and calling as teachers and to grow further through field practice," and added, "I hope they will become competent early childhood teachers who possess both professionalism and character, building on the commitment they made today."


After the oath ceremony, the prospective early childhood teachers took their first steps as prepared professionals, ready to lead the future of early childhood education with warmth and dedication.
