The Gyeongbuk Provincial Government and the Gyeongbuk Culture and Tourism Organization (President Kim Namil) announced that from May 15 to 17, they hosted a joint famtour for inbound tourism, inviting 12 organizations from Taiwan's travel industry and media to introduce major tourist attractions and local cuisine in Gyeongju and Pohang.
This famtour was organized not only by the provincial government and the organization, but also jointly with the Daegu Foundation for Arts and Culture, the Korea Tourism Organization, and Jin Air. It is being held sequentially in Gyeongbuk and Daegu over a total of five days from May 15 to 19.
A famtour group consisting of Taiwan's tourism industry and media outlets is visiting the Gyeongbuk region, touring tourist attractions in Gyeongju and Pohang.
On May 15, representatives from Taiwan's travel industry and media visited Pohang, touring the Guryongpo Japanese House Street, Igari Anchor Observatory, Yeongildae Beach, and Space Walk. On May 16 and 17, they moved on to Gyeongju, where they visited the National Gyeongju Museum, Hwangridan-gil, Wonder Space, and Gyeongju World Culture Expo Grand Park.
The organization expects that this famtour will help promote the Daegu and Gyeongbuk regions ahead of the 2025 APEC Summit and contribute to attracting more Taiwanese tourists.
Lee Sanghun, Head of the Marketing Business Division, said, "Through this joint famtour for inbound tourism, we hope that representatives from Taiwanese travel agencies and media were able to directly experience Gyeongbuk's core promotional content and explore its potential for commercialization. Going forward, we will continue to actively promote the charms of Gyeongbuk in line with the upcoming APEC Summit and focus on developing and marketing customized tourism products to attract more Taiwanese tourists, one of our key inbound markets."
