On May 17 at 4:00 p.m., Oh Seungrok, Mayor of Nowon District, attended the "Traveling Orchestra" event held at the car-free street near Wolgye Lotte Castle Luna Apartments, where he watched the performance together with local residents.
The "Traveling Orchestra" is a touring performance planned by Nowon District to provide cultural experiences to residents weary from daily life. Anyone can attend free of charge without prior reservation. This year, there will be a total of eight performances held in both the first and second halves of the year.
This performance was the second in the series, following the first event held in conjunction with the "2025 Buleumsan Azalea Festival." The orchestra visited Wolgye Lotte Castle Luna Apartments to give the performance.
The concert opened with a performance by the Western Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Bang Seongho. The program included modern reinterpretations of classical pieces, as well as familiar repertoire such as the soundtrack from the movie "Avengers," allowing even classical music newcomers to enjoy the concert comfortably.
Additionally, jazz vocalist Go Ara and saxophonist Kim Sunghoon performed as guest artists, presenting a variety of genres including "Becoming Dust" and "We Are the Champions," which received an enthusiastic response from the audience.
Mayor Oh Seungrok stated, "We aim to visit residents frequently so that they can enjoy culture in their everyday lives without any burden," and added, "I hope that music close to home will bring comfort and energy to your busy days."
