The Korea Meteorological Administration announced that as of 8:00 p.m. on May 16, the heavy rain advisory previously issued for the northeastern, southwestern, and northwestern areas of Seoul has been lifted.
The affected districts include Nowon-gu, Seongbuk-gu, Jungnang-gu, Gwangjin-gu, Dongdaemun-gu, Dobong-gu, Gangbuk-gu, Seongdong-gu (northeastern area); Gangseo-gu, Gwanak-gu, Yangcheon-gu, Guro-gu, Dongjak-gu, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Geumcheon-gu (southwestern area); and Eunpyeong-gu, Mapo-gu, Seodaemun-gu, Yongsan-gu, Jongno-gu, and Jung-gu (northwestern area).
The heavy rain advisories for Goyang in Gyeonggi Province and the lowland areas of Hongcheon County were also lifted at 8:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., respectively.
The heavy rain advisories for Yeosu and Gwangyang in South Jeolla Province were also lifted as of 8:30 p.m. on May 16.
However, a heavy rain warning remains in effect for Namyangju in Gyeonggi Province.
