The Chungnam Office of Education announced that the 16th Chungnam Science Creativity Festival will be held over two days, from May 16 to 17, at the Science Education Center in Asan, with more than 5,000 members of the educational community in the province?including students, teachers, and parents?in attendance.
Held under the theme "Blue Us, Green Earth, A Better Future," the Chungnam Science Creativity Festival features participation from students and teachers, science-focused schools, the Chungnam Science Subject Research Association, 15 Imagination Lab Makerspaces, local universities, the Chungnam Parents Association, the Chungnam Science-Loving Mothers' Association, the Chungnam Robot Experience Center, local government-affiliated organizations, and regional science institutions. The festival is organized into six themed areas: exhibitions, play, digital, hands-on experiences, performances, and lectures.
This year's Chungnam Science Creativity Festival is composed of 63 diverse exhibition and hands-on programs that require students to take the initiative. The festival presents creative solutions for environmental protection and sustainable development.

In particular, students participate in a variety of environmentally friendly project activities, such as solar cell cars, recycling robots, and products made from recyclable materials. These programs are designed to explore themes and environmental issues that reflect the unique characteristics of the Chungnam region.
There are also many activities involving local residents. For example, "The Splendid Transformation of Corn" and "A World of Games Made from Discarded Items!" offer parents the opportunity to participate directly and experience small actions for environmental protection.
In addition, students from schools at all levels exhibit their own scientific ideas and share opinions on ways to solve various problems.
Kim Ji-cheol, Superintendent of Chungnam Office of Education, stated, "Scientific innovation and creative ideas have great potential to bring about significant changes not only in the Chungnam region but also nationwide. We will continue to support the application of various science education methods in schools, so that this can become an opportunity to foster our students' future competencies."
