Gangjin County Receives 'SA Grade' in Korea Manifesto Implementation Headquarters Evaluation
Highest Excellence Awarded for Faithful Fulfillment of Pledges and Transparent Administration
Gangjin County in South Jeolla Province (Governor Kang Jinwon) announced on May 16 that it received the 'SA Grade (Highest Excellence)' in the 2025 National Basic Local Government Head Pledge Implementation and Information Disclosure Evaluation, organized by the Korea Manifesto Implementation Headquarters, on May 15.
This achievement is the result of faithfully fulfilling promises made to the residents, serving as meaningful recognition of Gangjin County's commitment to delivering on its pledges and the credibility of its administration.
This evaluation targeted 226 basic local governments nationwide and was conducted in two stages: an initial assessment of publicly available website data, and a second verification of pledge implementation data. The evaluation covered five areas: ▲pledge implementation rate ▲achievement of 2024 goals ▲communication with residents ▲degree of online communication ▲consistency with the original pledges.
Gangjin County's pledge implementation rate for the 8th popularly elected administration was 74.4%, significantly surpassing the national average of 53%. The rate of achieving last year's goals also reached 97.5%, which is 5 percentage points higher than the national average of 92.5%, clearly demonstrating the county's determination to fulfill its pledges.
Additionally, the county enhanced information accessibility by posting updates on pledge implementation in various formats on its website, and earned recognition for transparency and communication by openly disclosing not only the pledge implementation plans and pledge budget, but also detailed progress reports and reasons for any adjustments to the pledges.
Governor Kang Jinwon stated, "Thanks to the united efforts of all public officials in Gangjin County to faithfully implement the pledges of the 8th popularly elected administration, we have achieved the valuable result of receiving the highest grade this year, following the excellence grade last year." He added, "We will continue to place our promises to the residents as the top priority in county administration and will responsibly bring the 8th administration to a successful conclusion."
