Jeonnam Province Launches Practical AI Training for U.S. Tariff Response Jeonnam Provincial Government Office View

Jeonnam Province is launching practical training on generative artificial intelligence (AI) for export companies to respond quickly to the high tariff measures imposed by the United States.

In cooperation with the Gwangju-Jeonnam Regional Headquarters of the Korea International Trade Association, Jeonnam Province will hold a seminar titled "AI Assistant and Workflow Automation Strategies Using ChatGPT" on May 29 at the Damyang Resort seminar room.

Applications can be submitted until May 27 by referring to the notices on the website of the Gwangju-Jeonnam Regional Headquarters of the Korea International Trade Association. Any executive, employee of an export company, or relevant public official located in Jeonnam is eligible to apply.

This training is a practical program designed to enhance the ability of export companies to respond to the rapidly changing trade environment by teaching generative AI-based workflow automation technologies that can be immediately applied in the field of trade.

This is the second session of the "Jeonnam Trade Academy" held this year. The first session, which took place in March, covered practical export-import logistics and offset trade strategies in response to strengthened U.S. tariff measures and received positive feedback from participating companies.

The second session, scheduled for May 29, will focus on "Workflow Automation Using Artificial Intelligence" as a follow-up to the response to tariffs, aiming to dramatically improve the speed and efficiency of tariff response.

The main topics include: an overview and applications of ChatGPT; practice in writing trade-related English emails and real-time translation; techniques for scraping important articles and key information; and building customized AI assistant chatbots. The training will be hands-on rather than theoretical, making it highly applicable in practice.

Shin Hyungon, Director of International Cooperation at Jeonnam Province, stated, "This training is designed to help export companies facing strengthened protectionism under the Trump administration process their work quickly and strategically using generative AI."

Jeonnam Province plans to operate the Jeonnam Trade Academy a total of five times by the end of this year. Upcoming sessions include viral marketing using social networking services (SNS) and short-form content (August), buyer consultation strategies linked to the International Agricultural Expo (October), and case studies on AI utilization for trading companies (November).
