The Gwangju City Work-Family Balance Support Headquarters announced on May 15 that it will hold a "Family-Friendly Certification Information Session" together with the Family-Friendly Certification Examiner (Korea Management Certification Institute) at 2:00 p.m. on May 23 in the headquarters' main auditorium.

"Family-Friendly Certification" is a system in which the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family grants certification to companies and institutions that exemplarily operate family-friendly policies, such as supporting childbirth, childcare, and education, implementing flexible work arrangements, and fostering a family-friendly workplace culture, after a thorough review process.

At the information session, comprehensive information will be provided regarding the Family-Friendly Certification review overview, review process, and evaluation criteria. In addition, free consulting on family-friendly management will be offered.

Applications to participate in the session can be submitted through the Family-Friendly Support Project website under "Family-Friendly Certification - Information Session Application" until 3:00 p.m. on May 22. On-site registration will also be available on the day of the event. For inquiries regarding application, please contact the Family-Friendly Certification Secretariat or the Work-Family Balance Support Headquarters.

As of last year, a total of 140 companies and institutions in the Gwangju region maintained Family-Friendly Certification. Certified companies and institutions are eligible for a variety of benefits provided by the central government, including the issuance of priority immigration cards by the Ministry of Justice, additional points in the Public Procurement Service's goods and service qualification reviews, and deferral of local tax audits.

Additionally, Gwangju City provides further support to certified companies and institutions, such as preferential treatment in SME export marketing projects, additional points in the Excellent Job Creation Company Certification Program, additional points for credibility in general service qualification reviews, preferential loan interest rates at financial institutions, and reductions in credit guarantee fees. Detailed information on benefits can be found on the Family-Friendly Support Project website under "Certified Company Incentives."

Yoon Geonyeol, head of the Work-Family Balance Support Headquarters, stated, "Family-Friendly Certification plays an important role in fostering mutual growth between employees and employers in an era of low birth rates and an aging society," and added, "We ask for the active interest and participation of companies and institutions in this information session, which has been organized to enhance understanding of Family-Friendly Certification."
