Under this agreement, Highland Food Group plans to expand and establish food manufacturing and logistics facilities in the Icheon area. The city will provide administrative and institutional support to ensure the company’s investment proceeds smoothly.

Founded in 1999, Highland Food Group is a mid-sized food company engaged in wholesale and processing of meat, as well as distribution and export of livestock products. The company currently has major bases in Seoul and Changwon, South Gyeongsang Province.

In particular, through this agreement, the city will implement the “Dedicated Corporate Investment Attraction Coordinator System” to strengthen its tailored support system for businesses. The dedicated investment attraction coordinator is a public official assigned to provide close support throughout the entire investment process for the company. The city will offer one-stop administrative services in various areas, including permits and licensing, infrastructure linkage, and prompt handling of civil complaints.

Youngmi Yoon, CEO of Highland Food Group, stated, “Through this agreement, we will lay the foundation for mutual growth between Icheon City and our company, and open a new future for the food industry in Icheon.”

Kyunghee Kim, Mayor of Icheon City, responded, “We will use this agreement as a stepping stone to generate positive ripple effects on the local economy and job creation in the future.”
