"Preventing Serious Accidents"... BPA Conducts Emergency Drill at Construction Site

Busan Port Authority (BPA, President Song Sanggeun) conducted a simulated response drill for serious industrial accidents on May 14 at the construction site of the Phase 2 North Container Hinterland Complex at Busan New Port.

The drill was carried out under the scenario of a collision and entrapment accident involving a dump truck on a steep slope. The company checked the entire process, from activating the on-site reporting system, to rescue and emergency response, patient transport, and the establishment of measures to prevent recurrence.

Led by BPA, about 40 participants including representatives from the construction project management team and the construction contractor took part in the drill. Footage from mobile CCTV cameras installed at the site was transmitted in real time to the headquarters' 'Safety Lounge,' where executives remotely monitored the entire drill.

BPA enhances its emergency response capabilities through regular drills held twice a year. Lee Sangkwon, Head of BPA’s Construction Division, stated, "We will continue to strengthen our systems to enable swift responses to on-site accidents."
