Reza Mawastama and his delegation toured Yulchon Industrial Complex, Gwangyang Port, and Yeosu National Industrial Complex on the same day, focusing on enhancing their understanding of the industrial infrastructure in the Gwangyang Bay Area and exploring possibilities for future cooperation.
Indonesia, with a population of approximately 280 million, is the world's fourth most populous country and is emerging as a central nation in Asia thanks to its abundant natural resources, including key minerals such as nickel, aluminum, and copper. The Indonesia Investment Promotion Center in Korea, an agency under the Ministry of Investment of Indonesia, opened its office in Seoul in 2014 and is responsible for facilitating investment exchanges between the two countries.
Reza Mawastama stated, "I was deeply impressed by the industrial development of Yulchon Industrial Complex and Yeosu Industrial Complex during this visit to the Gwangyang Bay Area. I hope that not only large corporations but also small and medium-sized enterprises in the Gwangyang Bay Area will pursue cooperation with Indonesia."
Koo Choongon, head of the Gwangyang FEZ Authority, said, "Let us work together to achieve mutual growth in investment and industrial cooperation by leveraging Korea's technology and Indonesia's abundant natural resources and young workforce."
