This campaign was organized in response to the renewed emphasis on the importance of seat belt use, as the number of traffic fatalities caused by either not wearing a seat belt or unclear seat belt use in Jeonnam alone reached 12 as of the end of last month. The campaign aims to encourage the regular use of seat belts in all seats and ensure the safety of vulnerable road users, such as children and the elderly.
The participating organizations highlighted the importance of wearing seat belts, introduced examples of improper seat belt use, and emphasized the necessity of seat belt use for children and elderly passengers in the back seat. They also raised awareness among school vehicle drivers through repeated and practical guidance.
Chief Jung Sungil stated, "Going forward, we will continue to conduct substantial, field-oriented campaigns to promote the regular use of seat belts, making full use of our resources in collaboration with local partners such as Muan County Office and other traffic and public safety agencies."
