Gumi Office of Education Holds Gumi Disabled Students e-Festival

Enhancing Digital Skills of Students with Special Educational Needs
and Improving Awareness of Disabilities

The Special Education Support Center of the Gumi Office of Education in North Gyeongsang Province held the '2025 Gumi Disabled Students e-Festival' for students with special educational needs and general students in the Gumi area.

The event, held on May 14, aimed to enhance the digital skills of students with special educational needs and to improve awareness of disabilities through interaction between students with and without disabilities.


The festival was divided into morning and afternoon sessions. In the morning, an information technology competition took place, where students had the opportunity to demonstrate their digital capabilities through various IT programs such as software coding, smart searching, and video production.


In the afternoon, an e-sports tournament was held, allowing students with special educational needs and general students to form teams and collaborate while playing 'FC Online' and 'Modueui Marble'.


One student with special educational needs who participated in the IT competition said, "I worked hard to prepare for coding, but there were many difficult parts. Next time, I want to show even better skills." A general student who took part in 'Modueui Marble' shared, "Preparing together with my friend allowed me to understand more and become closer, which was great."


Shin Woonshik, head of the Special Education Support Center, stated, "This e-festival was a great help in developing the digital skills of students with special educational needs. Through the e-sports tournament with general students, we had an opportunity to understand each other. We will continue to make efforts so that students with disabilities can access digital technologies and grow through various educational activities."


This event served as an important platform for interaction between students with and without disabilities in the Gumi area, helping to improve awareness of disabilities and laying a crucial foundation for the activation of digital education for students with disabilities.
