A Four-Day Celebration of Spring at Changpowon
Experience Flowers, Wild Ginseng, Meditation, and More
The 1st On Spring Festival in Geochang will be held over four days from May 15 to May 18 at the Geochang Changpowon area.
The On Spring Festival in Geochang is the first spring festival in Geochang County to integrate various spring events. Under the slogan "A Grand Spring Day, Finding Rest at Changpowon," the festival offers visitors the opportunity to fully enjoy the atmosphere of spring, as well as a variety of experiences and moments of relaxation.
This year's On Spring Festival in Geochang will kick off with the KBS Open Concert on May 15, followed by an integrated opening ceremony, the Arimia Flower Festival, the Geochang Hansanyangsam Festival, the Meditation·Vegan Festival, the National Drone Soccer Tournament, and the Barefoot Walking event, all held at the Geochang Changpowon area.
First, the KBS Open Concert will take place at 7:30 p.m. on May 15, hosted by announcer Park Sohyun. Top Korean singers such as So Chanwhee, Park Hyunbin, Tae Jinah, Lee Buyoung, Woo Yeoni, Hwang Garam, Kyungseo, and NouerA, as well as classical vocalists including soprano Lee Haewon, tenor John Noh, and crossover artist Park Hyunsu, will deliver a diverse lineup of performances.
On May 16, the integrated opening ceremony of the On Spring Festival in Geochang will officially mark the start of the spring festivities through congratulatory performances, an opening declaration, greetings from distinguished guests, and an opening performance.
From May 15 to May 18, the Arimia Flower Festival and the Geochang Hansanyangsam Festival will take place. At the Arimia Flower Festival, visitors can enjoy viewing over 100 types of flowers. During the festival period, various activities such as flower crafts, a flower photography exhibition, potted plant workshops, and a flea market have been thoroughly prepared for visitors to Geochang Changpowon.
The Geochang Hansanyangsam Festival will feature a wild ginseng auction, an OX quiz, wild ginseng tasting, and infused liquor making experiences, among other diverse events, to promote the excellence of Geochang wild ginseng.
From May 17 to May 18, the Meditation·Vegan Festival and the National Drone Soccer Tournament will be held. The Meditation·Vegan Festival will offer a special time for modern people seeking a nature-friendly and healthy lifestyle, with a total of seven meditation programs including flower meditation, as well as various vegan cooking tastings and hands-on experiences.
The National Drone Soccer Tournament will feature 10 teams from the Pro and Masters Leagues and 8 youth club teams. Programs allowing visitors to experience drones firsthand are also prepared, and a strong response is expected from family visitors.
On May 17, 200 participants will take part in the 2nd Changpowon Barefoot Walking event, enjoying a healthy, healing walk on the Changpowon grass plaza and the barefoot walking course.
Meanwhile, on May 14, County Governor Koo Inmo, event officials, the Geochang Police Station, and the Geochang Fire Station inspected the facilities installed at Geochang Changpowon, checked visitor flow routes, and reviewed safety and convenience measures to ensure a successful and safe festival.
Additionally, Geochang County is making every effort to welcome guests by improving the environment of Geochang-eup and Geochang Changpowon, so that tourists visiting Geochang Changpowon can enjoy their visit conveniently and comfortably.
