Enhancing Resident Convenience Through On-Site Administration
Baek Samjong, Deputy Governor of Hamyang County, visited the site of the public natural burial site development project to inspect the operation and management of the facilities and discuss future operational directions with relevant officials.
The 'Hamyang Public Natural Burial Site Development Project' was promoted as an expansion of burial facilities to address the issue of full capacity at the existing Guryong Public Cemetery. Over a period of six years, from 2019 to 2024, a total area of 29,803 square meters was developed.

The newly established natural burial site through this project can accommodate approximately 9,000 burials. In addition, supporting facilities such as a management office, pavilion, and memorial yard for visitors have been provided, creating an eco-friendly and comfortable funeral environment.
During the site inspection, Deputy Governor Baek stated, "The establishment of this natural burial site is significant in resolving the shortage of public burial facilities and in providing residents with an eco-friendly and comfortable funeral culture." He also requested, "Please continue to make every effort to ensure ongoing management and improvements so that there are no inconveniences in using the facilities."
Deceased individuals who were registered residents of Hamyang County are given priority in using the public natural burial site. Those whose initial place of registration was Hamyang County are also eligible to use the facility.
