Reviewing the Status of Project Sharing with Central Ministries and Gyeongsangnam-do
Discussing Strategies for Securing Budget Allocations
Hapcheon County in South Gyeongsang Province held a progress report meeting in the county office's small conference room to review the status of projects targeted for securing national and provincial funds for 2026.
The report meeting, held on May 13 and presided over by County Governor Kim Yooncheol, was attended by directors and all department heads. Participants reviewed the current status of sharing the 2026 target projects with central government ministries and Gyeongsangnam-do, as reported during the project identification meeting in February, and discussed strategies for securing budget allocations.
Major projects include: ▲ Southern Region Wide-Area Tourism Development Project ▲ Barrier-Free Tourism Connectivity Enhancement Open Call Project ▲ Hapcheon Meteorite Impact Crater Local Branding Activation Project ▲ Tripitaka Koreana Theme Park Sky Garden Construction Project ▲ Chogye-myeon Urban Regeneration Open Call Project ▲ Hapcheon County Public Livestock Manure Treatment Facility Improvement Project ▲ Hapcheon Municipal Solid Waste Incineration Facility Installation Project ▲ Seed Industry Infrastructure Construction Project ▲ Smart Agriculture Promotion District Creation Project, among others.
According to the government budget formulation schedule, each central ministry reviews the proposals, and the budget plan must be submitted to the Ministry of Economy and Finance by the end of May. Therefore, May is a critical period that essentially determines the success or failure of securing government funds.
Recognizing the importance of proactive efforts to secure national and provincial funds, Hapcheon County plans to make every effort in this regard. The county will visit Gyeongnam Province, central ministries, and the National Assembly to explain the necessity and urgency of the projects, and will maintain close cooperation with local members of the National Assembly.
County Governor Kim Yooncheol stated, "In order for Hapcheon County's major projects, which are essential for mid- to long-term development and securing future growth engines, to be reflected in the government budget, all departments must establish persuasive logic and validity to support the necessity of each project. It is now necessary to engage in active administration by directly visiting government ministries and continuing discussions with relevant officials." He added, "Until the government budget plan is finalized, we will continue to propose our projects through frequent visits to the National Assembly and central ministries."
