'Deep Bow and Singing Miryang Arirang'... Kim Munsu Makes All-Out Effort to Secure PK Votes

Pledges Decentralization and Special Admissions

People Power Party presidential candidate Kim Munsu toured the Gyeongnam region on the 14th, seeking to secure support from conservative voters. During his visit to Miryang, he pledged, "If I become president, I will boldly transfer more than half of all administrative authorization rights currently held by the central government to local governments."

At a campaign rally on Miryang Jungang-ro that afternoon, Kim said, "Even if you want to build a factory here, you need approval from the central government, and obtaining that approval is extremely complicated due to preliminary feasibility studies, budget support, and other requirements," explaining his pledge.

Kim also stated, "In particular, I will boldly ease regulations such as green belts, agricultural promotion zones, and various other restrictions," and added, "The Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of National Defense, and the Ministry of Land are all located in Sejong City, but I will actively pursue the transfer of these authorities to Gyeongnam and Miryang City."

Kim promised tax benefits for companies relocating to local areas, saying, "I will significantly reduce inheritance tax, corporate tax, and capital gains tax."

Kim especially emphasized the need to prevent population decline in local areas, saying, "We also need people. I will create many special admission programs so that students can enter good universities without having to go to Seoul."

He stressed, "We should give preferential treatment so that students who have attended elementary, middle, and high school in Miryang can be admitted first to top medical schools."

Earlier, Kim visited Jinju and Sacheon in Gyeongnam, where he also pledged full support for the development of the aerospace industry.

At Sacheon Aerospace Administration, he met with Director Yoon Youngbin and said, "We need to provide at least ten times the current budget," adding, "Aerospace is a field that will pioneer the future." Considering this year's budget is 964.9 billion won, he effectively pledged a budget of 10 trillion won.

The reason Kim focused his campaign efforts in Busan and Gyeongnam (PK) for two consecutive days is that voter sentiment in this region is highly significant. As the PK region is a battleground where both major parties compete closely in every election, Kim needs to consolidate his support base early to close the gap with the frontrunner.

Reflecting this strategy, Kim tried to project a familiar image by singing "Miryang Arirang" with a microphone during his Miryang rally. At the Jinju Gwangmi Intersection rally in the morning, he also performed a deep bow to his supporters.

On this day, Kim also made sharp remarks directed at Lee Jaemyung, the Democratic Party presidential candidate. Referring to Lee's alleged involvement in the Daejang-dong development scandal, Kim said, "Even for a small project like that, everyone was arrested, some people died during investigations, and Lee himself is still on trial. How can we entrust the Republic of Korea to someone like this?"

He further criticized, "It's not just the president being impeached. Now, the chief justice, the judges handling his cases, and even prosecutors are being impeached," adding, "If everyone is impeached like this, this is dictatorship?what else could you call dictatorship?"

He especially warned, "If this person becomes president and takes control of the legislative, executive, and judicial branches, it will immediately become a dictatorship like Kim Jong-un's, Xi Jinping's, or Hitler's."
