Gwangju City, in collaboration with the Gwangju Tourism Organization, is hosting a 'Short-form Video Contest' to widely promote the city's history and tourism.

This contest has been organized to effectively showcase the charm of Gwangju through the production of short and impactful video content, each no longer than 60 seconds, under themes such as '2025 Visit Gwangju Year' and the '5·18 Democratization Movement.'

The contest period runs until June 30. Participants are required to create a short-form video of up to 60 seconds, post it publicly on their personal social media accounts with the required hashtags, and then submit the URL of the video to the contest submission site. Detailed information is available on the official Gwangju Culture and Tourism blog, 'Visit Gwangju.'

During the contest period, the city will host a variety of historical and cultural events, such as the 45th anniversary of the 5·18 Democratization Movement and the Street Culture Festa, providing a rich array of content for video production.

Submitted videos will be reviewed, and the winners will be announced at the end of July. Prizes include a laptop for the Grand Prize winner (1 person), an iPad for the Excellence Prize winner (1 person), wireless earbuds for the Merit Prize winners (2 people), as well as various other IT devices and coffee gift coupons. The winning entries will be used as promotional content for the '2025 Visit Gwangju Year.'

On May 14, Lee Seungkyu, Director of the New Vitality Promotion Headquarters, stated, "We hope this contest will serve as an opportunity to newly highlight Gwangju's history and appeal from a creative perspective," and added, "We look forward to the active interest and participation of many citizens and content creators."
