Dongducheon City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Park Hyungdeok) announced on May 14 that it has launched the official social media channels of the Dongducheon Media Center to strengthen communication with various generations and enhance citizens' media literacy.
The new social media channels, including Instagram (@ddccity.media), Facebook, and YouTube, will regularly feature self-produced content and program reviews. The initiative aims to introduce the programs and facilities of the Dongducheon Media Center to citizens in a more accessible way and support the prompt delivery of information.
In particular, the center plans to contribute to improving citizens' media literacy and encourage greater participation by offering tailored content such as center guides, instructions on facility usage, and reviews of educational and experiential programs, all reflecting the interests of different generations.
An official from Dongducheon City stated, "Through the operation of the Dongducheon Media Center's social media channels, we will provide opportunities for various generations to participate in media activities and actively support citizens in enhancing their media skills, thereby increasing satisfaction with municipal administration. We will continue to promote the Dongducheon Media Center systematically so that its recognition grows and citizens can enjoy a richer media experience."
Meanwhile, with the launch of these social media channels, the Dongducheon Media Center plans to further boost citizen participation and take the lead in developing the local media culture.
