Oh Sejin: "Optimized AI Infrastructure Captures Both Cost and Performance"
AI infrastructure solutions company Ten Co., Ltd. (CEO Oh Sejin) has demonstrated both its technological prowess and market potential by securing a Series A investment of 8 billion KRW this month.
Despite an overall contraction in the venture investment market, Ten has achieved meaningful results based on its proprietary technological competitiveness. This round of investment is seen as recognition of Ten's GPU-based infrastructure optimization technology, which has been evaluated as possessing both scalability and practicality to meet large-scale demand in the AI infrastructure market.
Participants in this Series A round include LG Uplus, KDB Industrial Bank, Quantum Ventures Korea, and Ascendo Ventures. In particular, Ten plans to solidify its strategic collaboration with LG Uplus to strengthen infrastructure operation capabilities, including the joint development of an AI infrastructure platform.
Leveraging its GPU-centric infrastructure optimization technology, Ten is contributing to the establishment of AI adoption foundations across various industries. Ten's flagship product, AI Pub, enables flexible and efficient infrastructure operation by allowing a single GPU to be subdivided or multiple GPUs to be grouped together, depending on workload and operating environment. This technology plays a critical role in accelerating AI development for enterprises and reducing costs. In practice, Ten has proven its reliability by supplying technology to a diverse customer base, including the Agency for Defense Development, LG Electronics, Samsung Display, Hanwha Systems, Hyundai Mobis, and major universities.
Additionally, Ten has developed a customized infrastructure configuration system, based on experimental data, that automatically recommends the most suitable computing resources according to the characteristics and intended use of AI models. This empirical analysis capability for model-resource matching is recognized in the industry as a distinctive competitive edge. It has become a key driver that attracts not only companies already operating AI but also those considering its adoption to choose Ten first.
The path taken by CEO Oh Sejin, who chose to focus on the infrastructure domain instead of AI models, is also drawing attention. Despite the prevailing market sentiment at the time of the company’s founding that "AI models come first," Oh recognized early on the importance of cost-effective infrastructure to support high-quality AI models and dedicated himself to developing AI infrastructure solutions. The technological capabilities he has built up by boldly entering a field that had received relatively little attention are now increasingly being recognized in the market.
Now in its fifth year since establishment, Ten plans to accelerate its entry into the global AI infrastructure market, building on its domestic market foundation. AI Pub is designed based on Kubernetes, the de facto standard for container orchestration technology in the industry, which ensures outstanding scalability and compatibility.
The company explained that this technological structure allows for rapid adoption even in overseas markets. In addition, Ten plans to expand its business into the "AI-dedicated cloud" sector, aiming to become an end-to-end AI infrastructure solutions partner for both large enterprises and small- and medium-sized businesses. In line with this business expansion, the company also intends to actively recruit top talent.
CEO Oh Sejin stated, "We will build product competitiveness and a service system capable of responding immediately to global demand, and grow Ten into an AI infrastructure platform company chosen by the world."
