Busan Office of Education Holds 'Capacity Building Training for Principals on Responding to Complaints'

Enhancing Teachers' Protection and Strengthening Principals' Capacity to Address Complaints

The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education conducted an online 'Capacity Building Training for Principals on Responding to Complaints' on May 14, targeting all principals of kindergartens, elementary, middle, high, and special schools.

This training was designed to strengthen the ability to respond to frequent complaints in schools in a systematic and fair manner, with the goal of creating a stable educational environment and establishing a school culture of mutual respect.

The training lecture was delivered by Kim Mintae, a policy researcher at the Human Rights Policy Research Institute, under the theme 'Protecting Educational Activities and Responding to Complaints from a Legal Perspective.' The lecture focused on practical response strategies, including the role of schools based on the Constitution and education-related laws, the rights and responsibilities of teachers, and ways to respond to unreasonable complaints.

Kim, in particular, introduced practical content to assist school administrators by presenting various real-life cases, methods for responding to complaints by type of educational activity infringement, and the role and decision-making criteria of principals in conflict situations.

Kim Seokjun, Superintendent of Education, stated, "Principals must be at the center of protecting educational activities, and I hope this training will provide practical help in building a culture of communication and cooperation based on trust with parents." He added, "The Office of Education will also strengthen legal support and psychological and emotional counseling for teachers so that schools can focus on their core duties."

The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education plans to continue expanding field-oriented customized training and administrative support, focusing on creating an environment where teachers can take pride in and devote themselves to their educational activities.
