At the election committee meeting held at the central party office in Yeouido, Seoul, on this day, Chairman Yoon stated, "Since a majority of the public opposes martial law, he should apologize, but because he does not want to lose his support base, he gave an apology that is not a real apology."

Chairman Yoon added, "The presidency of the Republic of Korea is not a position that can be attained through deception. The people will not forgive this. The true Republic of Korea will prevail. That is the course of history."
