The Jeonnam Community Chest of Korea (hereafter referred to as Jeonnam Sarangui Yeolmae) announced on May 13 that the NH Nonghyup Bank Jeonnam Branch has joined the Nanum Myeongmun company program as the first company in Muan this year.
The induction ceremony, held on the same day at the Jeonnam Sarangui Yeolmae conference room, was attended by Kim Donggeuk, Secretary General of Jeonnam Sarangui Yeolmae, Lee Younghyun, Branch Manager of NH Nonghyup Bank Jeonnam Branch, Jo Seohyun, Head of General Affairs, as well as other staff members.
This year, NH Nonghyup Bank Jeonnam Branch became the first Green Regular Member company in Muan-gun for 2025 to join the Nanum Myeongmun company program. NH Nonghyup Bank Jeonnam Branch plans to further strengthen the spread of the culture of sharing and coexistence with the local community through continued social contribution activities.
Last year alone, NH Nonghyup Bank Jeonnam Branch donated 108 million won to Jeonnam Sarangui Yeolmae, becoming a regular member of the Nanum Myeongmun company program. A ceremony was held to present both the Nanum Myeongmun company plaque and the certificate awarded to fully-paid members. The donated funds will be fully allocated to projects aimed at supporting neighbors in need of care and social welfare facilities, helping to address welfare blind spots.
Kim Donggeuk, Secretary General of Jeonnam Sarangui Yeolmae, said, "I would like to express my deep gratitude to NH Nonghyup Bank Jeonnam Branch, which has practiced sharing with the local community for a long time," and added, "We will make every effort to ensure that the donated funds are used meaningfully for welfare projects benefiting neighbors in need throughout Jeonnam."
Lee Younghyun, Branch Manager of NH Nonghyup Bank Jeonnam Branch, stated, "As a financial institution that has grown together with the local residents, NH Nonghyup Bank will take this opportunity of joining the Nanum Myeongmun company program to practice even more responsible sharing and social contribution," and added, "We will continue to take the lead in creating a warmer tomorrow together with the local community."
Meanwhile, the 'Nanum Myeongmun company' program is a representative corporate donor group in Korea, consisting of companies that have donated at least 100 million won or pledged to donate within three years. The program is designed for companies that create social value and contribute to the public good.
