The White House announced on May 12 (local time) that, starting May 14, tariffs on low-value imports from China will be reduced from the current 120% to 54%.
President Donald Trump approved an executive order to lower tariffs on low-value parcels from China from 120% to 54%, while maintaining the minimum fee at 100 dollars.
Previously, on April 3, President Trump signed an executive order to abolish the "de minimis" exemption for imports under 800 dollars from China, effective May 2, and to impose a 30% tariff. On April 9, he announced that the planned tariff on low-value parcels would be raised from 30% to 90%, and one day later, he increased it further to 120%.
