Liam and Olivia have topped the list of most popular baby names in the United States for six consecutive years. Liam has maintained the number one spot among boys for eight consecutive years, while Olivia has been the most common name for girls for six years in a row.

On May 10 (local time), the Associated Press reported that Liam and Olivia were the most popular names by gender in the United States last year. The U.S. Social Security Administration compiles and publishes annual statistics on names given to boys and girls in each state.

Following Liam and Olivia, Noah ranked second among boys for the sixth consecutive year, while Emma took second place among girls. The previously popular girls' name Luna fell out of the top 10, with Sophia entering the top 10 for the first time by taking its place.

Sophie Kihm, editor-in-chief of the baby naming website Nameberry, commented, "Recent data shows that parents are increasingly choosing names with multicultural appeal," adding, "There are many families in the U.S. with diverse cultural backgrounds, and many parents request relatively easy-to-understand names for their children."

Meanwhile, according to the South Korean Court's Electronic Family Relationship Registration System, the most commonly registered baby name in South Korea last year was 'Iseo,' accounting for 6.09% of all registrations. This was followed by Ihyeon (6.07%), Seoa (5.76%), and Jian (5.63%). Among boys, Ijun was the most common, accounting for 5.60%.
