Dongshim Hanmadang has been held annually by the Pumasi Movement Headquarters since 2005, with the aim of helping society recover its childlike innocence and become a happier Korea. Various institutions, companies, and organizations have participated in the event through the spirit of Pumasi, and this 20th anniversary celebration will feature even more diverse programs and events.
The opening ceremony will include a demonstration by the honor guards of the three branches of the Ministry of National Defense, a performance by the female honor guard, and a military band performance.
There will also be a variety of hands-on activities for the whole family to enjoy. Participants can join a family love poetry and drawing contest, and children can experience balloon art, origami, Dakgangjeong, robots, and traditional games, among many other fun activities.
The event will also provide opportunities to experience new technologies, including 3D printing and AR experiences, as well as Dongshim Hanmadang sessions with YouTubers.
All performances, food, and hands-on programs will be offered free of charge.
Park James, Director of External Cooperation at the Pumasi Movement Headquarters, stated, "Dongshim Hanmadang is an educational festival that reaffirms the core values of love, harmony, respect, and communication in a society weary from competition, and passes on the value of sharing to the next generation based on the spirit of Pumasi. We hope that many citizens will show warm interest and participate in this festival that unites us through the innocence of childhood."
