Gangseo-gu, Seoul will host the "2025 Ujangsan Green Festa" at Ujangsan Soccer Field on May 17, from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Held under the theme "Green Life Together, at Ujangsan," this festival is an eco-friendly event for the whole family to enjoy.
From 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., an Eco Concert will take place, featuring a balloon performance, a magic show, and performances by indie bands. The opening ceremony, which starts at 2:00 p.m., will include a performance using a bicycle generator and a celebratory performance.
Participants can pedal bicycles to generate electricity, which will be used to create beautiful soap bubbles. This eco-friendly performance offers a fun way to experience the principles of renewable energy (human-powered energy) and the importance of energy conservation. The celebratory performance will feature a special appearance by Lim Sunghyun, winner of the Cho Sungmo episode of "Hidden Singer."
Various eco-friendly experience programs will be available throughout the festival grounds. Activities include demonstrations of the AI-powered recycling robot "Super Gyube," an environmental fishing pond where participants can fish for trash in a pond model, the Global Environment Library where visitors can read environmental books, and a keyring-making event using discarded bottle caps, among many other events.
This festival aims to be a zero-disposable eco-friendly event. No separate promotional materials such as leaflets or banners will be produced; instead, festival information will be provided via QR codes placed at the entrances. Visitors who bring their own tableware or tumblers when using food trucks will receive discounts on food prices.
Jin Kyohoon, Mayor of Gangseo-gu, stated, "Ujangsan Green Festa is more than just a festival. It is a platform for all residents to become agents of environmental protection and to practice eco-friendly habits in their daily lives. Through this event, I hope to build the future of green Gangseo together with our residents."
