Recruitment for Softeer Bootcamp Participants Open Until May 28
Hyundai Motor Company and Kia are recruiting outstanding IT and software development talent to accelerate their transition to a software-defined vehicle (SDV) development system.
On May 13, Hyundai and Kia announced that they will be accepting applications for the sixth cohort of the 'Softeer Bootcamp' from today until May 28. The Softeer Bootcamp is a recruitment-linked training program designed by Hyundai and Kia to nurture capable new software developers and secure talent.
'Softeer' is a compound word combining 'software' and 'engineer', and also conveys the meaning of a pioneer (frontier) in the field of automotive software.
In this recruitment, Hyundai and Kia will select a total of 75 participants across five fields: web front-end, web back-end, data engineering, service planning, and UI (User Interface) design.
Eligible applicants are those who have graduated from domestic or international universities as of February 2025, or are expected to graduate by February 2026. Applications can be submitted through the official website.
After two rounds of online assessments, Hyundai and Kia will select applicants who possess basic job competencies and fundamental software knowledge through interviews. The education program, which will run for a total of eight weeks starting in July, will be provided completely free of charge.
Participants will first complete one month of theoretical training, followed by hands-on team projects. These team projects are structured to allow participants to directly experience the development processes used in actual business settings, and the results will be evaluated directly by Hyundai and Kia professionals.
Hyundai and Kia will also operate a 'meet-up' program where current employees and participants can interact, and will provide various mentoring opportunities for career guidance and introductions to real job functions.
All trainees will be provided with high-performance laptops, development tools, and other equipment and software needed for the program. Outstanding graduates may also receive additional awards.
After completing the program, participants will have the opportunity to join Hyundai and Kia as software developers, service planners, UI designers, or data engineers through a final interview process.
Eunsook Jin, Executive Vice President in charge of ICT at Hyundai and Kia, stated, "The Softeer Bootcamp is a talent development program that allows university students to experience a collaborative environment similar to real-world work," adding, "We aim to foster outstanding talent, contribute to the development of the domestic software culture, and ultimately bring about positive changes in the future software development environment."
