The Korea Startup Forum announced on May 13 that it had successfully concluded the 'Business Trip in Tokyo,' which took place from May 7 to 9.

This program is part of the global outreach activities for COMEUP 2025, following last month's 'Business Trip in Shanghai.'

'Business Trip in Tokyo' was designed to select startups seeking to enter the Japanese market and provide them with opportunities to experience various programs, including exploring the local startup ecosystem, participating in corporate presentations (IR) and pitching, and networking.

Key figures attended the event, including Han Sangwoo, Chairman of the Korea Startup Forum, Koo Taeun, Vice Chairman, Yoon Hyungjun, Chair of the Global Committee (CEO of Caplix), and Cho Minsik, Chairman of the Korea Angel Investment Association (Vice Chairman of Bespin Global). In addition, nine startups from diverse industries such as legal tech, edtech, healthcare, and tourism participated, including BHSN, Book IPs, SafeDoc, Adriel, Open Survey, Y Tour & Golf, Hydrochem, White Cube, and Tomato Studio.

During the program, participating companies attended the 'Tokyo Unicorn Summit 2025,' visited startup infrastructure in Tokyo such as the KOTRA Tokyo IT Center, toured 'Sushi Tech,' the largest startup exhibition in Tokyo, and took part in networking sessions with startup founders and accelerators who have entered the Japanese market.

In collaboration with Shinhan Financial Group and Kiraboshi Bank, the 'Korea-Japan Innovators Night' program was also held to introduce the technological capabilities and business potential of Korean startups to Japanese investors. Among the Korea Startup Forum participants, five companies (White Cube, Book IPs, BHSN, Hydrochem, Tomato Studio) gave IR pitches in front of local venture capitalists (VCs), while four companies (Open Survey, Adriel, SafeDoc, Y Tour & Golf) demonstrated their technologies directly through booths.

The Korea Startup Forum stated, "It is significant that, beyond a simple local tour, we provided Korean startups with opportunities to discuss actual partnerships with local public institutions, mid-sized companies, corporate venture capitalists (CVCs), and VCs."

The Korea Startup Forum plans to gradually expand the 'Business Trip' series around major local and global hubs, following Shanghai and Tokyo.
