Lee Junseok: "Priority for Science and Researchers... Lee Jaemyung's Populism Ignores the Future"

Lee Junseok declares,
"If elected, I will make science and technology the top priority"
Criticizes Lee Jaemyung and the People Power Party
Emphasizes unity to overcome crisis

Lee Junseok, the Reform New Party presidential candidate, stated on May 12, "If I become president, I will give the highest priority and support to science, technology, and researchers, and lead South Korea to victory in the upcoming US-China science and technology hegemony competition."

On this day, during his campaign kick-off event at Cheonggye Plaza in Gwanghwamun, Seoul, Lee said, "Lee Jaemyung, the Democratic Party presidential candidate, envisions a future soaked in populism that does not consider the future of South Korea at all," making his position clear.

Lee defined this presidential election as a "contest between Lee Jaemyung and Lee Junseok." He said, "If every citizen who is concerned about South Korea rises up like wildfire and recreates the miracle of Dongtan, we can once again give Lee Jaemyung and his followers the trauma of defeat and save South Korea. There are three weeks left. Three weeks is enough."

Lee criticized the People Power Party, saying, "They have no justification to save South Korea from populism," and added, "The essence of their party leadership struggle is just about what they can take from a collapsing house." He further stated, "We cannot entrust the role of confronting the Goliath-like Lee Jaemyung to a group that cannot even uphold basic party democracy."

Lee also remarked, "With Kim Moonsoo becoming the People Power Party candidate, they will now begin their 'big tent' strategy. Unfortunately, that big tent no longer includes our Reform New Party, but is rather a big tent with the Liberty Unification Party and Hwang Kyoan."

Lee continued, "No matter what anyone says, South Korea is now standing on the brink of a precipice," and emphasized, "The only way to save ourselves from this crisis is for us to unite and create the new world we desire."

Meanwhile, as the official campaign period for the June 3 presidential election began, Lee's first schedule at midnight was a visit to the Kumho P&B Chemicals Yeosu Plant 2 in the Yeosu National Industrial Complex, Jeollanam-do.
