11 Honorees Recognized for Contributions to the Automotive Industry on May 12
On May 12, at 3:00 p.m., Ulsan City will hold the "19th Ulsan Automobile Day Commemoration Ceremony" in the conference hall on the third floor of the Ulsan Technopark Automotive Parts Technology Research Institute, with over 100 participants including Mayor Kim Doo-kyum and representatives from the automotive industry.
The Ulsan Automobile Day Commemoration Ceremony is organized to mark Automobile Day (May 12), aiming to raise public interest in the automotive industry and to foster pride and morale among businesspeople and workers engaged in the local automotive sector.
The event will include commendations for contributors to the development of the automotive industry, followed by a future automotive industry presentation (seminar).
In the commendation segment, 11 individuals?including businesspeople and workers who have contributed to Ulsan's automotive industry?will receive awards: four will be honored with the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Award, and seven will receive the Ulsan Mayor's Award.
During the presentation, representatives from Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology, Korea Polytechnic University, and Korea Transportation Safety Authority will share case studies and exchange opinions on "Response Strategies for Automotive Parts Companies in the Transition to Future Automobiles."
Mayor Kim Doo-kyum stated, "Due to recent U.S. tariff policies, we anticipate significant challenges for the automotive and parts industries. Amid a complex international environment, we will do our utmost to secure new growth engines so that the local automotive industry can adapt to paradigm shifts and achieve sustainable development."
"Ulsan Automobile Day" was established to commemorate Korea's cumulative automobile exports surpassing 10 million units on May 12, 1999, and has been celebrated annually with a commemorative ceremony since 2007.
