Kim Minseok, the Standing Co-Chair of the Election Countermeasures Committee, held a press conference at the party headquarters in Yeouido, Seoul on this day. He stated, "It is right to immediately strip former President Yoon of his party membership and re-arrest him for orchestrating a loyalist military coup and manipulating a party coup to replace the candidate." He added, "Is it not time for candidate Kim, who is known as a representative pro-Yoon (pro-Yoon Sukyeol) figure and has faithfully followed former President Yoon's intentions more than anyone else, to make a decision?"
Kim further said, "It seems natural for you to form a far-right big tent and move toward creating a unified new party by allying with the Liberty Unification Party of Pastor Jun Kwanghoon, who has long shared your ideology. I would like to hear your thoughts on this."
Kim also stated, "I believe that the total resignation and severe disciplinary action against the party leadership, including Kwon Seongdong, Lee Yangsoo, and Park Sooyoung, who trampled on the party's constitution and regulations and the people's suffrage, and attempted a violent midnight candidate replacement that resulted in public distrust of politics, would help realize the constitutional principle of party politics and restore public trust in politics."
Kim called for the following: the establishment of a special prosecutor and a special court for insurrection; a national hearing to eradicate shamanistic politics and investigate those involved with the Yongsan presidential office; and the withdrawal of the New Right's traitorous historical perspective.
