Geumcheon-gu (District Mayor Yoo Seonghun) announced that it will recruit 286 participants for the "2025 Second Half Seoul Companion Jobs Program" from May 12 to May 21.
The Companion Jobs Program is a public employment initiative that provides direct jobs to economically vulnerable job seekers, supporting their livelihoods and employment stability.
Compared to the first half of the year, the district will add 9 new projects and recruit 28 additional participants, expanding jobs in areas with high community impact such as traditional market safety guards, indoor children's play facility operations, and waste resource managers.
Eligible applicants are Geumcheon-gu residents who are at least 18 years old and able to work as of July 1. The combined household income must be at or below 80% of the median income, and total assets must not exceed 499 million won.
The wage will be based on the 2025 minimum hourly rate of 10,030 won. Including meal allowances, participants under 65 years old will receive a daily wage of 57,000 won, while those aged 65 and older will receive 37,000 won per day.
Additional benefits include enrollment in the four major social insurances, paid weekly and monthly leave, health checkups for health management, and occupational safety and health training.
Residents who wish to participate should check the eligibility requirements posted on the Geumcheon-gu Office website and apply in person at their local community center.
The district will comprehensively review applicants' asset status, whether they belong to a vulnerable employment group, and their previous participation in direct job programs to select the final participants. The results will be announced on June 25 in the "Geumcheon News" section of the Geumcheon-gu Office website.
Selected participants will perform public service work such as environmental maintenance and community safety support at Geumcheon-gu Office and major local public facilities from July 1 to December 19. Work will be scheduled five days a week, for three to five hours per day.
Yoo Seonghun, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, stated, "Through the second half Seoul Companion Jobs Program, we hope to provide not only substantial livelihood support but also a stepping stone for job seekers to enter society," adding, "We will continue to strengthen tailored employment support such as job counseling and job and entrepreneurship training to revitalize local employment."
