"We Will Build an Anti-Lee Jaemyung Front"
Kim Moonsoo, the presidential candidate of the People Power Party, stated on May 10, after regaining his candidacy, "Justice will prevail, and now everything will return to its rightful place."
Kim made this statement in a press release after a party-wide vote to replace him with former Prime Minister Han Ducksoo as the People Power Party's presidential candidate was rejected. He said, "I will immediately launch the election campaign committee and establish a big tent to build an anti-Lee Jaemyung front."
Kim also said, "I will unite with everyone who shares our vision," and appealed, "I hope candidate Han Ducksoo will remain in the party until the end and join us in this presidential election."
He went on to emphasize, "The People Power Party will become the foundation of victory through innovation," and added, "Now, we will move forward to create a new and great Republic of Korea."
On this day, the People Power Party held a vote from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. among all party members, asking whether to replace candidate Kim with former Prime Minister Han. The result showed more votes against the replacement than in favor, so the motion was rejected. As a result, Kim Moonsoo regained his qualification as the People Power Party's presidential candidate.
