On the first day of candidate registration for the 21st presidential election, May 10, six candidates submitted their personal information, including assets, tax payments, and military service records, to the National Election Commission.
According to the National Election Commission, Lee Jaemyung, the Democratic Party candidate, reported assets totaling 3,089,140,000 won. Reform Party candidate Lee Junseok reported assets of 1,470,890,000 won. Lee Jaemyung reported an apartment in Sunae-ro, Bundang-gu, Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, jointly owned with his spouse (valued at 1,456,000,000 won), as well as bank deposits (140,770,000 won), among other assets.
Lee Junseok reported an apartment in Nowon-ro, Nowon-gu, Seoul, under his own name (728,000,000 won), as well as bank deposits (352,870,000 won), among other assets.
In addition, Kwon Youngguk, Democratic Labor Party candidate, registered assets of 2,501,930,000 won; Gu Juwha, Liberty Unification Party candidate, 1,741,190,000 won; Song Jin-ho, independent candidate, 288,660,000 won; and Hwang Kyo-ahn, independent candidate, 3,317,870,000 won.
As for criminal records, Lee Jaemyung had three cases, Kwon Youngguk had four cases, and Song Jin-ho had seventeen cases.
Regarding military service, Lee Jaemyung was classified for wartime labor service due to aftereffects of a bone fracture. Lee Junseok, Gu Juwha, and Song Jin-ho reported that they had completed their military service.
