Yeosu City Selects Nine Outstanding Cases of 'Active Administration' for the Second Half of Last Year

On May 9, Yeosu City in South Jeolla Province (Mayor Chung Kimyung) held an Active Administration Committee meeting in the city hall situation room and selected nine outstanding cases of 'Active Administration' and 11 excellent public officials for the second half of 2024.

The highest distinction was awarded to the establishment of the 'Yeosu-style Youth Rental Housing Support Project' (Architecture Division). The excellence distinction was given to three cases: ▲'Samoksamok Nangdo, the No. 1 Island Ecotourism Destination' (Tourism Division), ▲Expansion of Citizen Safety Insurance (Safety Management Division), and ▲Sending advance notifications for acquisition tax reporting and payment (Taxation Division).

The encouragement distinction was awarded to five cases: ▲'Practical Civil Servant' who contributed to cost savings in landfill improvement and expansion projects and secured additional provincial funding (Resource Facilities Division), ▲Dream Start 'Supporting Children's Dreams' (Women and Family Division), ▲'Yeosu Water Tasting Experience'?public water purification plant tours (Waterworks Division), ▲Operation of the Yeosu Industrial Complex Environment and Safety Integrated Control Center (Industrial Complex Environment Management Division), and ▲Uninterrupted civil service through enhancement of non-budget information systems (Smart Information Division).

Mayor Chung Kimyung stated, "We will provide definite incentives to outstanding public officials who have enhanced the credibility of city administration through active administration that citizens can truly feel," adding, "We will establish a public service culture where hard-working employees are recognized and rewarded."

Meanwhile, the city selects outstanding public officials for active administration every year in the first and second half, granting personnel incentives to foster a competent public sector.
