Customized Meal Plans for Children in Single-Parent Families Aged 12 to 36 Months
Cash Support Enables Tailored Nutrition
Holt Children's Services is conducting the nutrition support program "Mammami (米)A" to promote the healthy growth and development of young children in single-parent families. Applications for participation are open until May 18.
Holt Children's Services (President Shin Misook) announced the launch of the nutrition support program "Mammami (米)A" to promote the healthy growth and development of young children in single-parent families.
Now in its fourth year, "Mammami (米)A" is sponsored by Korea Credit Information Services and has been newly restructured from the previous method of providing baby food in kind to a cash support system. This change enables families to purchase ingredients tailored to their child's developmental stage and preferences or to select convenient meals, thereby allowing for customized nutritional support for each child.
To date, "Mammami (米)A" has provided stage-specific baby food to more than 80 infants and toddlers in single-parent families experiencing financial difficulties, supporting their basic nutritional needs. Starting in 2025, with the shift to cash support allowing guardians to directly plan meals, more effective nutritional management tailored to each child's individual nutritional status and developmental stage is expected.
Eligibility for "Mammami (米)A" includes single-parent families raising children aged 12 to 36 months whose household income is at or below 100% of the median income. Applications are open until May 18 through the official Holt Children's Services website, and further details can be found on the "Participation/Application" page of the website.
A representative from Holt Children's Services stated, "This 'Mammami (米)A' program focuses on expanding guardians' choices and providing healthy food in the way that best suits each child," and added, "We will continue to offer diverse support to ensure the stable growth of children in single-parent families."
Meanwhile, celebrating its 70th anniversary this year, Holt Children's Services is an NGO providing professional social welfare services for children in crisis, young adults preparing for independence, single-parent families, people with disabilities and local residents, and children in impoverished areas of developing countries. The organization operates various campaigns and programs, contributing to the advancement of social welfare.
