The Gwangju FTA Trade Promotion Center, operated by the Gwangju Chamber of Commerce and Industry, announced on May 9 that it will hold a "Practical Training on Issuing FTA Certificates of Origin for Beginners" on May 20.
This training has been organized to help local export companies overcome difficulties in issuing certificates of origin and to support the enhancement of practical skills for those in charge. Customs broker Song Kiyoung from JS Customs Corporation will provide intensive training, focusing on topics such as the concept and utilization procedures of FTAs, sector-specific exceptions for rules of origin, practical guidance on preparing FTA certificates of origin, and the application process for certified exporters of origin.
Participation in this free training will grant companies 12 points toward certified exporter status, which is expected to be of significant help in renewing or newly obtaining certified exporter accreditation. To apply, participants can download the application form from the Gwangju Chamber of Commerce and Industry website and submit it via fax or email by May 14.
A representative from the Gwangju FTA Trade Promotion Center stated, "We hope this training will provide practical assistance to those responsible for issuing certificates of origin at local export companies," adding, "We look forward to the active interest and participation of many companies."
