Kim Holds Emergency Press Conference Criticizing Party Leadership's "Forced Unification"
Lee Junseok: "Yoon Expelled Me Three Years Ago with the So-Called 'Attitude Theory'"

Lee Junseok, the Reform New Party presidential candidate, predicted that Kim Moonsoo holds an overwhelming advantage in the People Power Party primary conflict and that unification will not occur.
On May 8, Lee stated on YTN Radio's "News Fighting with Kim Youngsoo," "I've experienced so much of this in the People Power Party that I'm practically an injunction expert. This is a case where an injunction would succeed 100%," making these remarks.
He said, "It is correct to say that Kim Moonsoo has gained the upper hand because Han Deoksoo declared that he would not register as an official candidate unless unification with Kim is achieved by the Central Election Commission's presidential candidate registration deadline on the 11th." He added, "I also heard that, at the People Power Party's general meeting yesterday, several lawmakers began to voice opposition. I think the leadership of the two Kwon's?Kwon Youngse, the emergency committee chair, and Kwon Seongdong, the floor leader?has reached its limit."
He further commented, "This is similar to when Yoon Sukyeol's side caused a commotion three years ago to push me out." He continued, "Back then, they opposed me with arguments like the so-called 'attitude theory,' but since Kim Moonsoo is 75 years old, they can't go that far, so it just seems they're frustrated."
Lee also dismissed the possibility of unification if Kim Moonsoo is ultimately chosen as the People Power Party's presidential candidate. He said, "Above all, our policy directions are fundamentally different, and our positions on martial law and impeachment are at odds, so I think it would be difficult."
Meanwhile, Kim Moonsoo proposed unification with independent candidate Han Deoksoo through a broadcast debate next Wednesday, followed by public opinion polls on Thursday and Friday. He called on the party leadership, saying, "From this moment on, stop any efforts to remove me, Kim Moonsoo, a legitimate presidential candidate, under the pretext of forced candidate unification." He emphasized, "The forced unification currently underway is essentially a forced candidate replacement and an attempt to remove me, Kim Moonsoo, so this could lead to legal disputes."
