Hoseo University announced on May 7 that it had donated 23,930,000 won to the Korean Red Cross to support residents affected by wildfires in the Yeongnam region.

This donation was raised voluntarily by all members of the university, including students, professors, and staff, with students taking the lead.

The donated funds will be used for a variety of emergency disaster relief efforts, including the provision of essential supplies, temporary shelter for displaced residents, and psychological recovery programs.

Hoseo University plans to form a volunteer group to participate in on-site relief activities as recovery efforts begin in earnest.

Student Council President Seo Hyunwoo said, "We hope that the affected residents feel the solidarity of the entire nation," adding, "We will continue to engage in various volunteer and solidarity activities in the future."

President Kang Ilgu also stated, "We will spare no effort to support the affected residents so that they can return to their daily lives as soon as possible."
