[Special Stock] Green Resource Surges on Korea-US World's First Magnet Quantum Computing Success... Spotlight on Superconducting Magnet Production for Quantum Computers

Green Resource is showing strong performance. This is interpreted as being influenced by the news that Korean and U.S. researchers have jointly demonstrated, for the first time in the world, quantum computing operations using magnets (magnetic materials).

As of 1:55 p.m. on May 7, Green Resource was trading at 13,910 won, up 5.22% from the previous day.

According to the industry, KAIST announced the previous day that the research team led by Professor Kim Gapjin of the Department of Physics, in collaboration with Argonne National Laboratory in the United States and the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), has developed a "photon-magnon hybrid chip" and succeeded for the first time in the world in realizing multi-pulse interference phenomena in magnetic materials in real time.

The research team developed a special chip in which "light" and "vibrations inside magnets (magnons)" operate together. This chip can transmit signals (phase information) between magnets that are far apart, and enables real-time observation and control of the phenomenon where multiple signals interfere with each other.

The KAIST team led by Professor Kim Gapjin stated that this is the world's first experiment demonstrating that magnets can be used as core components in quantum computing, and that it will serve as an important turning point in the development of magnet-based quantum computing platforms.

Meanwhile, Green Resource possesses process-related intellectual property rights for the manufacturing technology of superconducting wires, utilizing rare earth material development and coating technology. Based on this, the company also entered the superconducting wire IBAD equipment manufacturing business in 2021.
