Cheongsong County Provides Emergency Living Support Funds to Residents and Business Owners Affected by Complete or Partial Destruction of Homes and Commercial Properties

Cheongsong County in North Gyeongsang Province has provided a total of 1.8 billion KRW in emergency living support funds to residents and business owners affected by the massive wildfire that broke out on March 25, 2025, in order to help them quickly stabilize their daily lives.

The support is available to individuals who reported damages, are registered residents of Cheongsong County, and are actually living in the county. Eligible recipients include owners or tenants of buildings registered in the Building Management Register (with permits) who are currently unable to operate their businesses.

The support amount is 5 million KRW for homeowners whose houses were completely or partially destroyed, and for business owners. Tenants of houses or commercial properties receive 3 million KRW. Additional support will be provided to newly confirmed eligible recipients in the future.

This support fund, financed entirely by the county's own budget, was established to comfort disaster victims who lost their homes unexpectedly and are temporarily staying in senior centers, motels, or relatives' houses, and to help them return to their normal lives.

Due to the wildfire, Cheongsong County suffered significant damage, with 770 houses completely destroyed, 17 partially destroyed, 92 commercial buildings completely destroyed, and 35 partially destroyed.

County Governor Yoon Kyunghee said, "I extend my deepest condolences to the residents who lost their homes in an instant," and added, "We will do our utmost to help everyone regain stability and hope as soon as possible."
