Bucheon City Operates "Visiting Health Consultation Service" at 11 Traditional Markets

Bucheon City in Gyeonggi Province is operating a "Visiting Health Consultation Service" by directly visiting traditional markets to promote the health of local residents.

The service provides basic health checkups and consultations for merchants and visitors at traditional markets, helping them to take an active interest in and manage their own health.

The program will tour 11 traditional markets in the region, offering basic health checkups and a variety of health consultations to merchants and market visitors. In particular, specialized personnel in fields such as dementia, smoking cessation, and mental health will be dispatched to the markets, making it easier for citizens to access health services.

Except for August, when the heat is at its peak, the service will be operated once a month from May to November at the 11 traditional markets, for two hours each time from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

In Sosa-gu, consultations will be held at Bucheon Hanshin Market on May 15, Bucheon Jayu Market on May 19, and Sosa General Market on May 22. In Ojeong-gu, consultations will take place at Wonjong General Market on May 13 and Bucheon Jeil Market on May 15.

The service locations will be set up in easily accessible places within each market, such as customer support centers, public parking lot offices, and urban regeneration field support centers. The consultations will include: basic health checkups (such as blood pressure and blood sugar measurements), personalized health consultations, early dementia screening, mobile smoking cessation clinics, and information on healthy lifestyle practices. These are all provided as part of comprehensive services linked to key public health center programs.

Kim Eunok, Director of Bucheon City Public Health Center, said, "I hope that the Visiting Health Consultation Service will provide residents visiting traditional markets with an easy opportunity to check their health and receive consultations," and added, "We will continue to actively promote field-oriented public health projects for the well-being of our citizens."
