Gochang County to Hold 'Mujang Eupseong Festival' on May 10

Programs Include History Golden Bell and Drawing Contest

Gochang County in North Jeolla Province announced on May 7 that the Mujang Eupseong Festival, an event for the whole family to enjoy together, will be held at Mujang Eupseong in Gochang on May 10.

Mujang Eupseong is a walled town constructed as a key defensive site in the Honam region, built by both government officials and local residents who united with a spirit of national defense to repel Japanese invaders. It is also a historic site where the Donghak Peasant Revolution Army first entered without bloodshed after proclaiming their manifesto and rising up at the Mujang Gipoji.
