Yeongdeungpo District Distributes "Parcel Fragile Stickers" with Anti-Drug Messages

Yeongdeungpo District (District Mayor Choi Hokwon) announced that it has produced "parcel delivery stickers" containing anti-drug messages and distributed them to local post offices in order to protect residents from drug-related dangers.

Recently, as drug transactions and distribution via social media (SNS) have increased, there have been more cases where residents, including teenagers, are left unprotected and exposed to drug-related crimes.

In response, the district produced three types of "parcel delivery stickers" to effectively deliver anti-drug messages through everyday items such as parcel boxes. The stickers feature warnings about fragile items, as well as the following messages: ▲ caution regarding foods such as chocolates and jellies containing cannabis ingredients when traveling abroad; ▲ anti-drug messages specifically for teenagers; ▲ information about anonymous drug testing available at the public health center. The aim is to help residents naturally recognize the dangers of drugs and raise awareness in their daily lives.

The stickers are distributed to 10 post offices and 12 postal agencies in the district, including Yeongdeungpo Post Office, and are attached to parcel boxes. They are also made available at self-packing stations so that anyone can use them.

If there is any suspicion of drug exposure, anyone can visit the public health center and receive an anonymous test. The test covers six major types of drugs, including methamphetamine, cannabis, and cocaine. Results can be confirmed within 20 minutes using a dedicated kit, and the service is completely free of charge.

In addition, the district is taking the lead in creating a drug-free community by conducting "drug and substance abuse prevention education" at elementary, middle, and high schools, local children's centers, and welfare centers, in cooperation with professional instructors from the Pharmaceutical Association and the Korea Association Against Drug Abuse.

Choi Hokwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo District, stated, "Drugs are no longer just an issue for a select few, but a risk factor that our entire society must guard against together," adding, "We will continue to protect residents' safety and build a healthy community through various initiatives in the future."
