"I Will Surely Win Together with the People, No Matter Who It Is"
Lee Jae Myung, the presidential candidate of the Democratic Party, stated on May 6, "Where is the People Power Party candidate? Out of nowhere, I find myself fighting against the massive vested interests of South Korea."
On his Facebook page that day, Lee remarked, "I thought this presidential election would be a competition with the People Power Party candidate," pointing out the current situation.
This comment is interpreted as a veiled criticism of the escalating conflict surrounding the unification of conservative candidates between Kim Moon Soo, the People Power Party candidate, and Han Duck Soo, the independent preliminary candidate.
Lee emphasized, "No matter who the unified conservative candidate is, I will win together with the people. In the end, it is the people who will decide."

Earlier on the same day, Lee visited a traditional market in Jeungpyeong-gun, North Chungcheong Province, and said, "The country is truly in crisis. The ongoing second and third attempts at rebellion, and even the rebellion itself, will soon be precisely suppressed by the great hands of the people. They must be suppressed."
He also mentioned Cho Bong Am, the former leader of the Progressive Party who was sentenced to death by the judiciary during the era of military regimes, and former President Kim Dae Jung, saying, "This time, let us make sure to survive and build a new nation together."
As a policy for building youth assets, he pledged, "I will introduce the Youth Tomorrow Savings Season 2 (tentatively called 'Youth Future Savings'), and actively pursue institutional improvements to meet the demands of young people."
He explained, "I will pave the way so that young people can use the strength they need to endure today to design a hopeful tomorrow," adding, "In an era where the future is more uncertain than ever for any generation, I will stand with young people so they can rise above their anxieties."
