LG Uplus's MVNO-exclusive platform "Aldot" has surpassed 300,000 subscribers just one year after its launch. Launched in May 2024, Aldot is an online platform that allows users to compare over 600 MVNO plans at a glance and supports non-face-to-face self-activation. Customers using Aldot can compare plans from 25 partner companies operating MVNO services on the LG Uplus network, select their preferred plan, and complete activation within five minutes.
LG Uplus cited specialized services developed to address customer inconveniences as the main reason for Aldot's subscriber growth. In January 2025, Aldot introduced the "Aldot Care" service, which allows customers to easily check their subscription information and data usage. Within just four months of its launch, Aldot Care surpassed 390,000 usage cases.
Aldot is focusing on enhancing customer convenience by offering services such as personalized plan recommendations based on each customer's usage patterns and a "self-activation" service that enables foreigners and minors to easily sign up for MVNO plans.
To celebrate the first anniversary of Aldot's launch, LG Uplus is running a variety of promotions. Throughout May, every customer who signs up for a plan through Aldot will receive a Melon 30-time streaming pass. In addition, every customer who subscribes to one of the "Aldot ONLY" plans with at least 15GB per month will receive a Starbucks "Sweet Dessert Set" coupon.
Furthermore, until May 15, customers who sign up for various discounted plans can choose one gift from the following: Starbucks Americano, Twosome Place Americano, Burger King Whopper Junior, McDonald's Cheeseburger Set, or Baskin Robbins Single King.
Looking ahead, LG Uplus plans to add self-application features for additional telecom services such as roaming and internet to Aldot, and also strengthen the Aldot Care function. Through these enhancements, customers will be able to use a wider range of telecom services more conveniently, and small and medium-sized MVNO operators are expected to efficiently care for their customers through Aldot without the need for a separate customer center app or consultation system.
Kwon Oseok, head of the MVNO business at LG Uplus, stated, "We will further advance the Aldot service to enhance customer convenience and strengthen our win-win relationship with small and medium-sized operators. As so many customers have used Aldot over the past year, we will continue to develop the platform so that customers can enjoy the best possible service on Aldot."
